Roger Ailes and Fox News Lawsuits
Today I’d like to talk again about the media. If you aren’t familiar, there is a lot of rumor surrounding the former founder and CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes. Ailes has since stepped down from his position with Fox News following allegations from multiple women about sexual harassment in the work place.
Most recently, Andrea Tantaros, a former co-host of a daytime show Outnumbered, claims that Ailes fired her after she reported him in retaliation to sexual harassment charges. Tantaros said, “Fox News masquerades as a defender of traditional family values, but behind the scenes, it operates like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency, and misogyny”. Ouch.
I think this helps to answer some of the questions I posed yesterday about the media selling us sensationalized stories full of sex, blood, and terror. The people running these places are rich, powerful, and can get away with what most cannot. It is really shameful that we sit back and eat it up. I hope Ailes gets what he has coming.
